These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the myco.ai website, map, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. The Service is an early-stage alpha product under active development. Features, scoring, coverage, and availability may change or be removed at any time without notice. See the Product Disclaimers for details on accuracy limitations — they are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The Service does not identify mushroom species, confirm edibility, or provide foraging, medical, legal, or land-access advice of any kind. It provides modeled estimates of habitat likelihood only. You are solely responsible for verifying species identification, edibility, land access, permits, and applicable law before acting on anything you see in the Service. Never rely on the Service to decide whether a mushroom is safe to touch or eat.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any score or prediction is accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our owners, members, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including, without limitation, any illness, injury, or death arising from foraging, harvesting, or consuming any fungi, or from entering any land shown on the map. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater (which, at present, is $0, as the Service is free).
Foraging, hiking, and entering wild or undeveloped land carry inherent risks, including but not limited to illness from misidentified fungi, injury, exposure, wildlife encounters, and trespass. You assume all such risks when you use the Service to inform any real-world activity.

Map layers (including public-land boundaries) are provided for reference only, sourced from third-party and public datasets that may be outdated or inaccurate. We are not responsible for their accuracy. Basemap tiles are served by a third-party tile provider (see Privacy Policy).
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including abuse of the acceptable-use terms above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [county], New York.
