myco.ai does not identify mushroom species, confirm edibility, or verify safety in any way.
myco.ai estimates the likelihood that suitable habitat conditions exist for certain fungi genera in a given area, based on modeled environmental factors (rainfall, temperature, vegetation, historical observation density, and similar signals). This is a statement about habitat, not a statement about what is actually growing at any specific location, and never a statement about whether any mushroom is safe to touch, handle, or eat.
Never use myco.ai, alone or in combination with any other app, to identify a mushroom or to decide whether a mushroom is safe to consume. Misidentifying wild fungi can cause severe illness, organ damage, or death. Always have any mushroom you intend to eat identified in person by a qualified, experienced forager or mycologist, and when in doubt, do not eat it.
myco.ai is an early alpha. The underlying model, data sources, and scoring methodology are actively changing.
We are actively improving accuracy and coverage. Feedback on signals that were clearly wrong or clearly useful is genuinely valuable.
